Eugen Onegin is going to Bratislava for the Biennial of Illustrations/ BIB 2021

Eugen Onegin. Graphic Guide by Aleksey Oleinikov and Natalia Yaskina is a unique graphic novel based on the Russian classics – Eugen Onegin by Alexander Pushkin. This artwork is nominated by the Russian IBBY for Biennial of Illustrations Bratislava 2021 which will be held from 15th October 2021 till 9th January 2022.

BIB is the most important world event for the art of children’s illustration. It has existed since 1967 and “the idea was to offer opportunities for presentation of the best art from countries with traditions in book culture and illustration for children and to offer opportunities to illustrators from various countries to present their art to world experts and publishers” (Official site).

In 2017 Samokat’s title “The Apartement: A Century of Russian History” by Alexandra Litvina and Anna Desnitskaya won the Golden Apple – one of the 11 prestigious awards of Biennial.
